XL Recordings act The Golden Silvers tracked their new album ‘True Romance’ with producer Lexx. RAK publishing was ecstatic to finally sign them after a 6-month chase and negotiation.

Zimbabwean artist Netsayi recorded and mixed the bulk of her album with Bacon and Quarnby at RAK studios 2, 3 and 4 for World Connect records.

Fibes on Fibes – Kim Wilde

RAK Publishing writer David Saw did a number of collaborations during may and june including Australian artist Sarah Archer, Marley Harwood and Lotti Mullen.

Bernard Butler returned to RAK to produce Supervision artist Kate Jackson and Fiction Records Kate Nash.

Studio 3 had a lick of paint in January 09’

Rumble strips album “Welcome to the walk alone’ produced by Mark Ronson and engineered by Richard Woodcraft soon to be  released on Island Records.

Beverly Knight recorded 5 tracks to be release on her own label. Notable collaborations came from Chaka Khan and Robin Gibb. Terry Lewis (Jam and Lewis) spent the weekend in studio 4 with her hanging out !

New artist Lotti Mullen (production deal through Island Records) recorded the David Saw/Ben Taylor song ‘Wicked Way’ recorded and mixed by Tim Goalen.

XL recordings act The Golden Silvers did 3 days of rehearsal in preparation for a number of festival appearances this year including Glastonbury (3 shows) Latitude, Victoria Park and Bestival to name but a few.

Studio 1

Vertigo records band One Night Only recorded and mixed their debut album ‘Started A Fire’ with Steve Lillywhite in the producer’s chair. The album has now sold over 100.000 units.

Kaiser Chiefs completed the recording and mixing of their third album ‘Off with Their Heads’ produced by Mark Ronson

Sea Sick Steve recorded vocals with Ruby Tuner for two days, James Morrison was writing and recording new material with Ryan Tedder from One Republic and Colin Elliot (Richard Hawley) recorded strings for Tony Christie.

Show Without Punch recorded eleven tracks with Tim Goalen for what will be the first deal of it’s kind with RAK Publishing.

RAK were very proud to welcome the legend that is Neil Young to the studios. He was in town laying down live versions of songs that have been written whilst on the road.

The Gallows have been recording the follow up to their debut album ‘Orchestra Of Wolves’ with Garth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine/Shihad)

Karima Francis recorded her debut album with Bacon and Quarnby for Kitchenware/Columbia Records. The album is set for release in early 2009′.

Kate Walsh popped in to record ‘The Look Of Love’ for a Dusty Springfield compilation; the song was produced and mixed by Bacon and Quarnby.

Mercury records band Sergeant recorded with John Leckie.

The Last Shadow Puppets returned to RAK with Richard Woodcraft.

Two songs for the film “Love in the Time of Cholera” by Shakira produced by Jerry Boys.
Arctic Monkeys shot a video for “Teddy Picker” (see it now on YouTube) – NME Award for Best Video.
Brendon Benson – New album recorded and produced by Gill Norton (Feeder, Maximo Park, Foo Fighters).
Recording for the ITV drama “The Palace”, the score session included strings, brass, piano and more
The Kaiser Chiefs recording material for their next album with Mark Ronson.
Travis recorded material for their new album with Fran Healy in the producer’s chair.

Continuing from the December session in Studio 3, Kane & Turner’s new project “The Last Shadow Puppets” produced by James Ford for Domino Records.
Arctic Monkeys were back to record new material with David Ford.
The Kooks recorded an additional acoustic album (entitled ‘RAK’) with producer Mike Crossey.
